Like all food shelves in Minneapolis, Harvest from the Heart has seen year-over-year growth since the pandemic.  This constant need within our community is one we are all trying to meet, but-- for all the reasons you know --this need is becoming harder and harder to meet.

Unlike other food shelves, Harvest from the Heart is a 100% food rescue model.  We do not purchase food.  Instead, we have a network of volunteers and staff that get fresh food throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin and bring it into South Minneapolis where the need is dire.  Because of this, we do not qualify for grants and funding for purchasing food.  All of our needs are operational (staff, truck, refrigeration, etc).

When you give to Harvest from the Heart, you are giving to have fresh food for shoppers to choose.  You will not find government issued canned goods and processed meats at our food shelf.

When you give to Harvest from the Heart, you are helping your neighbors.  Over 60% of our shoppers come from the 55408, 55409 & 55407 zip codes.
